China will launch the final satellite of its third generation of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3) on Tuesday. The launch window is set to be at 9:43 a.m. BJT (0143 GMT). By then, the construction of BDS-3 will be completed and it will provide services worldwide.

China has been exploring a path to develop a navigation satellite system suitable for its national conditions since the 1980s, and gradually formulates a three-phase development strategy.
