A new Guinness world record was set Friday at a Chinese university for "most people performing sign language."

Changchun University in Northeast China's Jilin province broke the previous record with a total of 10,223 valid participants "singing" the song "Grateful Heart" in sign language, according to Yang Shaopeng, a Guinness certification officer.

Previously, the record was achieved by Yan Chai Hospital, Tin Yan Community Care Association and Link of Volunteers in Hong Kong on Nov 1, 2014, with 8,054 participants involved, according to the website of Guinness World Records.
