The Ministry of Public Security of China (MPS) will ease rules for temporary driving permits in South China’s Hainan province from August 1 to facilitate the entry of foreigners and residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
MPS has recently issued preferential policies on a pilot basis to support the implementation of foreigner’s driving permits in Hainan Province. First, requirements for temporary driving permits will be eased. Second, the expiry period of the temporary driving permit will be extended and better traffic management implemented to meet needs of foreigners to travel, work and live in Hainan.
Provincial public security team will set up service stations to make it easier for foreigners to obtain temporary driving permit at the airport, port and entry and exit points and provide online services.
