Helicopter crash in East China's Xiamen kills 3, 1 missing

Three people died and one was missing after a commercial sightseeing helicopter crashed in the sea near Mount Guanyin in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian Province, a rescue bureau official said on Friday.

Rescue operations are still underway, according to the staff member at the Ministry of Transport’s East China Sea rescue bureau.

Video footage shows a black helicopter plummet head-down into the sea, with a plume of water splashing upward upon contact, at about 4 pm on Friday.

The original flight route of the helicopter is currently not known and the cause of the accident is under investigation, according to an official from Xiamen Maritime Safety Administration.
