Dense fog along a highway caused a pile-up, killing three people Monday morning near Zhumadian city, Central China's Henan Province. 

The accident involved 28 vehicles, including trucks and courier vehicles, and trapped 15 people, according to local police. Thirteen people had been admitted to hospital after the accident, including three later confirmed dead. 

The rescue operation is still underway.
