HK police to set up new unit for national security legislation

Hong Kong police will set up a new unit to support the implementation of the national security legislation in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), John Lee, secretary for security of the HKSAR government said in an interview on Wednesday. 

The early stages of the unit's establishment are under way, including review resource allocation, manpower and equipment planning, he said.

Lee told the local media that the unit, would be guided by Chris Tang Ping-keung, the police commissioner of the HKSAR government.
