The new cases included 10 local infections, of which three had unknown origins, according to a CHP press briefing. The total tally in Hong Kong stood at 10,779.
According to Hong Kong's Hospital Authority, 359 COVID-19 patients are currently being treated in public hospitals and the community treatment facility at AsiaWorld-Expo, with 21 patients in critical condition.
Patrick Nip, Secretary for the Civil Service of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government, said Sunday that the government will likely launch the COVID-19 vaccine rollout at the beginning of March if related work such as the shipment goes smoothly.
He urged Hong Kong people to get the vaccine at an early date after the inoculation starts.
