Hongqiao International Airport in East China’s Shanghai will suspend all international as well as Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan flights from Wednesday and transfer all the above services to Pudong International Airport, local authorities announced at a press conference on Tuesday.

The measure was made to curb the growing number of imported COVID-19 cases, to enhance epidemic prevention and control. Hongqiao International Airport will remain an alternate airport for international, Hong Kong and Taiwan flights.
