International Ice and Snow Photography exhibit in Jilin to promote travel industry

The Jilin International Ice and Snow Photography exhibit kicked off in Jilin city, Jilin Province in northeast China on Sunday, attracting hundreds of photographers from all over the world. (Photos: Chi Jingyi/People’s Daily app)
The exhibit is being hosted by the Jilin city government and China Photographers' Association to promote the travel industry in Jilin. The theme of ice and snow fits with the city in North China.
Some 120 photos selected from 20,000 photos submitted by photographers were awarded best photos.
Beautiful sceneries caught by photographers are expected to attract more tourists to Jilin. What’s more, ice and snow sports is receiving government support. Elementary schools, middle schools and high schools are equipped with facilities to ski, skate and play hockey. Winter swimming has been another popular sport in recent years.
