The released Qingdao Declaration comprehensively summarized the development experience of the SCO over the past 17 years and continued vigorously carrying forward the "Shanghai Spirit" featuring mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, consultation, respect for diversified culture and pursuit of common development, which was clarified by State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi earlier in a press conference.

The Qingdao Summit is the first summit held by the SCO after its membership expansion, as well as the second major home-field diplomatic activity of China this year.

The Summit improves cohesion, action, and influence of the SCO, as well as closely centers on topics including the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and the building of a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness and justice, and win-win cooperation.
