The Chinese mainland welcome and support cities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait conducting exchanges and cooperation on the basis of adhering to the 1992 Consensus to jointly promote the interests of compatriots on both sides, said An Fengshan, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, on Monday.
He made the remarks after Kaohsiung mayor Han Kuo-yu announced that he plans to lead the Kaohsiung delegation to visit Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzhen and Xiamen from March 22 to 28 to carry out exchanges and cooperation.
