The majority of Chinese nationals in Afghanistan have been evacuated through the China embassy's efforts, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Monday.
The embassy is also keeping in close touch with those who chose to stay in the country and has coordinated with the local government to ensure their safety, Wang said.
China attaches great importance to Chinese citizen's security in Afghanistan and the Chinese embassy in the region has rolled out measures for the better protection of the remaining citizens, Wang said.
The embassy in Afghanistan has published notices urging personnel still in Afghanistan to upgrade their addresses, whereabouts, family and contact information.
Further details can be seen on the embassy's official website.
