China's National Radio and Television Administration together with other agencies, has reinforced the rectification measures to video sharing applications like Douyin and Kuaishou through fines, according to the administration's official WeChat account on Tuesday.
The move was carried out with the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press, Publication, Film, Radio and Television, according to the Regulations on the Administration of Internet Audiovisual Program Services. Warnings and fines for administrative penalties were issued to live-streaming applications, including Jinri Toutiao.
A total of 15 short video-sharing apps had been removed from app stores for spreading illegal content, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) said on July 27.
