The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the National Supervisory Commission filed a case and initiated an investigation into Miao Ruilin, former vice governor of East China's Jiangsu Province.

The investigation found that Miao took advantage of his post to seek benefits for others, accepted bribes, illegally possessed unlisted company shares, and infringed on national interests in housing distribution.

Miao was expelled from the CPC and dismissed from public office, with all illegal properties confiscated. The criminal case was transferred to the public prosecutor's office for review and prosecution according to law.
