Mobike considers policy to control bike misplacement problem

Beijing (People's Daily)- Mobike, China’s leading bike sharing firm announced a new policy in Beijing to limit the problem of misplaced bikes.

Special areas, designated with “digital railings”, will be marked in blue in the app for where users can ride and park in urban Beijing.  

An extra fees of 5 yuan, which is five times its usage fee, will be charged if users park the bike outside the designated areas twice, and the money will not be returned to the user’s account until the bike is returned to the properly marked area within 24 hours.

The company said that the “digital railing” will help to direct users to park in a more rational and polite manner, and will also assist the shared bike management and the municipal administration have a better working relationship.
