HONG KONG – The MTR Corporation has decided to suspend ticket sales of high-speed trains from West Kowloon Station (WEK) originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon and evening.

The company advised that passengers could choose to take the through-train service and the East Rail Line to travel to Shenzhen and other mainland cities.

The change came considering the public order event to be held around the West Kowloon Station Sunday.

The special arrangements made to facilitate the smooth operations of the station as well as the High Speed Rail (HSR) trains on Sunday are as follows:

Entrance D will remain open for passenger to enter WEK only while Entrance K will be used for exit only;

Other exits/entrances of WEK will be closed from the start of service for the whole day;

All entrances for vehicles at WEK, including the entrances of the taxi stand, car park and drop-off area, will be closed from the start of service for the whole day Sunday;

Exits/entrances B4, C and D4 of Austin Station, which connect to WEK, will be closed from the start of service for the whole day;

Only the passengers with valid tickets/ticket purchase verification on Sunday and travel document will be allowed to enter WEK via the designated entrance. Passengers who have purchased HSR tickets online or through telephone should produce the relevant order number for checking on entry;

Ticket sale service at ticket counters and ticket machines at WEK will be suspended while online ticketing system, tele-ticketing system and designated ticket agents will provide normal services;

Only limited retail services will be available at WEK on Sunday. All the food and beverage retail shops will be closed.
