The city of Shenyang, the capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning Province, released guidelines on Thursday requiring at least one parent to look after their underage children when schools are closed and employers cannot dismiss them.

The guidelines aim to deal with problems in labor relations during the pandemic, and comes after sporadic local infections were detected recently.

Employees are entitled to flexible work schedules, such as remote working and flexible working hours, according to the documents.
