Medium-sized aircraft types such as the Boeing 737, Airbus 320, and the home-grown C919 will be able to take off and land here, said a manager at the airport.

In addition to the route to Guangzhou, flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chongqing will be available at the airport, according to the manager.

Construction of the regional airport started in December 2015, and the airport certification was granted on Sept. 18 following test runs.
