China's new Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng on Thursday met with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, Xie said on his official Twitter handle.
The Chinese ambassador said he's looking forward to "working with American colleagues in the days ahead."
Nuland welcomed Xie, saying on her Twitter that "open dialogue" is essential for developing relationship with China.
On the same day, Xie also presented a copy of his credentials to Chief of Protocol for the United States Rufus Gifford.
