With 227 Miao ethnic families and 1196 homes, the village is 25 kilometers from the nearest county.

Most of the villagers cannot speak Putonghua and the education level is low.

After taking night courses in basic mathematics, Putonghua, law and technical skills, villagers can read and write their own names.

The age of the students ranges from 16 to 50.

Wang has visited every family to encourage housewives to attend school.
