No access to new data service for Old subscribers? Response of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT)

Beijing—October 27, the State Council Information Office (SCIO) hold the press conference of the development in industry and information technology for the first three quarters.

It has raised wide concerns on the new data service as old users now have no access to the discounts. Response of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) showed positive.

Spokesman said that the Ministry has meet three mobile operators, asking them observe the document released in 2006 stipulating the right of users in choosing service plans. Mobile operators claim that they are devoting to establish new system for data service because of the complicated user compositions and diversified needs.

According to MIIT, the consumption of data boosted year by year, an average of 2 gigabytes of data per month. Chinese mobile Internet subscribers exploding, more demand for data service plan.
