Founder of Hong Kong-based newspaper Apple Daily, Jimmy Lai has been a firm supporter of the violent protests in Hong Kong. The media tycoon has participated in interviews with CNN, The New York Times, and Bloomberg. In one interview, Lai urged the US to intervene in Hong Kong affairs.

Chief Executive of China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Carrie Lam announced last week the government would withdraw the extradition bill. Lam also called for dialogue to find a way out of the current impasse.

Meanwhile, Lai held a meeting with opposition leaders and wrote in his newspaper that young protesters should be prepared to die for democracy.

Lai has been trying to sell himself to outside forces by any means. As he holds media resources in his hands, he uses these tools to disseminate malicious sentiment.

Lai claimed to pity the young demonstrators while openly sending them to their death. He has spread malicious gossip that has slandered police officers and embellished the violent action and rampage exhibited by the violent protesters.

"Hong Kong youth to turn into crusaders and fight against the evil,” Lai said one point. Such statements are akin to calling a stag a horse and confusing right with wrong. The nature of what he has done is closer to "evil" than it is to "bringing chaos" to Hong Kong.

In the recent piece, Lai showered the protesters with undeserved praise and said they were creating epoch-making changes. Obviously, Lai was seducing Hong Kong’s younger generations in with empty dreams, while inciting them to carry out more violent protests and serve as stepping stones for his political success.

However, Lai's remarks triggered rage among Hong Kong residents. Some even marched to his home, calling him 'the lackey of the US' and urged young people not to be tempted by his conspiracy actions.

Lai’s true colors reveal a method of blaming others for their faults. How is it possible that one can clamor to "fight for the US" while claiming that what they are doing is good for Hong Kong? How shameful for someone to say “the rule of law was threatened" while acting as a leader during illegal demonstrations and challenging the authority of the law?

How ridiculous is it for someone to discuss Hong Kong’s conscience by instigating violence, misrepresenting facts, destroying the media environment, distorting beliefs, and while inciting "Hong Kong independence"?

How despicable is it for one to discuss Hong Kong's future while not even thinking twice about bring ruin to the city?

Lai is originally from Shunde, in South China's Guangdong Province. He was cast out of his family and denounced as an “unfilial son.” This has provided him with great public satisfaction in upholding righteousness above family loyalty.

China is closely following the situation in Hong Kong as everyone is concerned about the future of the city’s younger residents. However,  troublemakers want the younger protesters to be the vanguard while they remain behind the line of scrimmage.

Lai's family has passports from seven countries. Members of his family own luxury homes abroad. They are free to escape whenever they desire.

For most Hong Kong residents and their children, the city is their home. And nobody wants their home to be turned into ruins.

Those who were incited by Lai's words and took part in violent acts and vandalism will not bring a brighter future for Hong Kong. They are ruining the city’s future instead.

Recently, foreign media has praised this traitor as a "spoiler with a clear conscience.” Western politicians are bolstering, and supporting the protesters from the back, while a few western media outlets have helped increase tension.

Because of this, people such as Lai refuse to stop while playing the role of a cat's paw. This trick has been played before at other locations, and ended in local devastation and disaster. However, with Hong Kong, which is China's territory, this will not happen.
