One student was killed and 11 teachers and students were injured in a school building in Anning, Southwest China’s Yunnan Province, on Friday morning, according to the local information office.

The armed suspect surnamed Yang, 20, who studied in Yunnan Traffic Technician College, injured 12 people in a building in the school at around 11:26 am on Friday. One student was confirmed dead after being sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. The other victims are now out of danger.

The suspect is now under the control of local police. The local administration initiated emergency operations and investigations, as well as medical treatment.

The school is now back to normal.
