One region in East China's Anhui Province has been classified as a medium-risk area for COVID-19 since Wednesday noon, the local authority said on Wednesday.

The medium-risk region is in the Zhangyang Community of Shencheng Town, Yingshang County of Fuyang City, according to the local epidemic prevention and control headquarters, while the rest of Yingshang County remains a low-risk area.

The city of Fuyang in East China's Anhui Province on Tuesday reported a new COVID-19 case linked to a confirmed case in Shanghai.
