More than 1,000 people from both China and abroad Saturday sat for the recruitment examination for 55 posts on the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Committee.

This is the second stage of job recruitment with one-sixth of the candidates of each post being selected to enter the final interview in October. The overall process of recruitment will be completed at the end of this year.

The 3-hour-long written test was designated to measure the multiple capabilities of the examinees including psychological state, basic quality, language ability, as well as the ability to analyze and solve practical problems.

The recruitment attracted nearly 3,000 applicants from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan as well as the United States, Canada and Singapore, with only 1,185 of them qualifying to take the written test, said Yan Cheng, the director of the human resources department of the Beijing Winter Olympic Committee. "The fiercest post of the recruitment saw 240 contenders for one position," he said.

The 55 posts, with each one recruiting for one person, refer to a wide range of fields such as media operation, construction planning, market development, laws, transport, medical treatment, logistics and hospitality.

A "talent pool" has also been established for the 2022 Winter Olympics by the Committee, which so far has attracted over 8,000 talents to take part in, according to Yan. "Those who do not meet the requirements of the recruitment this time are welcomed to become a member of the 'talent pool'," Yan said.

Established on December 15, 2015, the Beijing Winter Olympics Committee consists of 16 departments and two operating centers in Beijing's Yanqing District and Zhang Jiakou in Heibei Province respectively. The organization now has over 350 staff members.
