One trapped miner was found dead Sunday afternoon after seven days of rescue operations in the flooded coal mine in Northwest China's Qinghai Province.
The man's identity has been confirmed.

Tireless rescue efforts have been done to search for the remaining 18 trapped miners, despite the cruel environment and mounting risks.
The coal mine, located in Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, was flooded by mud on August 14 when 21 people were working below.
