Police from Gulinqing Township on the China-Vietnam border area received a tip-off at around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday that six trucks suspected of carrying smuggled goods were heading towards the township.

They immediately made a move and intercepted the vehicles on a rural road about half an hour later. Police seized more than 30 tonnes of illegally transported durians and caught the six suspects who were unable to provide shipping documents.

Further investigation is underway.
