BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Over 500,000 tonnes of fertilizers and related raw materials were imported through the customs of Xiashan, Zhanjiang city, south China's Guangdong Province in the first quarter of the year, according to the Chinese customs authority.

The imported fertilizers and related raw materials included sulfur and liquid ammonia and were rapidly examined and released by the customs of Xiashan.

The customs of Xiashan has opened a "green channel" for imported agricultural raw materials with multiple examination models to ensure efficient customs clearance.

As it is currently the golden period for spring plowing in China, securing the supply of agricultural materials such as fertilizer is key to the spring plowing and resumption of production.
