A panda tram is expected to begin operations in Dujiangyan, a county-level city in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The 32-meter, five-carriage electric rail transit vehicle can carry up to 292 passengers at a maximum speed of 70 kilometers per hour through tunnels, overground or on elevated tracks.
The 3-meter-wide, 4-meter tall tram is adorned with pictures of pandas playing on a iPad, sitting in the shade or carrying water across green hills. The blue-and-white inside has more panda images around the seats.
The Yutang South- Rongchuang Flyover section of the line is expected to enter trial operation before the Chinese New Year on February 1.
