Several passengers were stabbed on Friday afternoon on a bus in Xi'an, in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

A video circulating online shows several people lying on the ground injured, including what appear to be children.

A suspect has been detained by the police. The conductor on the bus said the suspect suddenly took a knife from his bag and began stabbing passengers.

Eight passengers were seriously injured and have been taken to hospital.
