Dialogue and consultations based on equality, sincerity and mutual respect are the only viable way out for the China-US trade issues.

That’s according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang.

After Washington announced the latest tariffs against China, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross told media that the intention of the US is to make constructive dialogue with China.

As to whether and when the two sides would hold such a dialogue, Ross said the matter is in China's ballpark.

Geng said sending out negotiation invitations and maintaining maximum pressure has become a routine trick of the US.(Xinhua)

"The media is an important bridge and link between people of all countries to strengthen communication and enhance understanding... We should provide convenience and support to the media to carry out its work, instead of setting obstacles," spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Geng Shuang said on Wednesday.

He said that China's stance on the issue is clear and that China welcomes foreign media to report on it with "objectivity and fairness", and is also willing to provide support and make it convenient for them to carry out their normal reporting work.(CGTN)
