Anonymous official says Trump staff working against 'amoral' president

An anonymous senior official wrote in The New York Times Wednesday That top members of Donald Trump's administration are so alarmed by the president's "erratic" and "amoral" behavior that they are actively working to undermine him.

The official described a "two-track" presidency in which Trump says one thing and his staff consciously does another.

For example, he described Trump's so-called “preference for autocrats and dictators.”

The unsigned piece appeared to reinforce the claims made in a new book by journalist Bob Woodward.

That book describes a virtual cabal of high-minded White House and cabinet officials scheming to prevent Trump from taking decisions damaging to the US economy and national security.

The White House has condemned Woodward's book as "nothing more than fabricated stories," and Trump called it "a work of fiction."(AFP)

China’s central bank governor said the country will enhance support for small and micro-sized enterprises with better policy coordination.

Yi Gang said monetary, fiscal and supervisory policies should be coordinated to raise the willingness of financial institutions to support small companies.

He added that the country should treat state-owned companies and private companies equally in terms of financial policies, including lending and bond issuance policies.

The governor said the financial system should build a sustainable business model to serve small companies and enhance risk prevention, with an accurate understanding of the facts of a short average life cycle, difficulties in getting loans for the first time, and highrisk premiums.(Xinhua)
