The four projects include three substations that entered into use in August and November, and a 500-kv converter station that is expected to be put into operation in the first half of next year, said Liu Yin with the power supply company of Yanqing District, Beijing.
The converter station will channel wind and solar energy from Zhangjiakou city of Hebei Province to Yanqing, providing 100-percent clean energy for Olympic venues.
To ensure a safe and stable supply of electricity in Yanqing, the district's power company has begun maintenance and pilot testing of 25 power lines and nine substations.
