Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, is conducting an inspection tour of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

On Monday, he first visited a community in Songshan district, Chifeng, and learned about Party building at the grassroots level as well as ethnic integration.

He then went to the city's museum where he learned about the local history and culture, and met with the inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage of the classical national epic of King Gesar.
