Chinese President Xi Jinping returned to Beijing on Wednesday night after attending the fourth Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Xi addressed the plenary session and attended a number of bilateral and multilateral events during the forum.

Xi's attendance at the forum is the first by a Chinese head of state, and the event is scheduled to last from Tuesday to Thursday.
