Chinese President Xi Jinping went to Tantou Village, Zishan Town in Yudu County in east China's Jiangxi Province Monday afternoon to inspect the renovation of old houses and the sanitation of environment. Tantou Village has a history of more than 700 years and was lifted out of poverty in 2017. Sun Guanfa, a local resident also the child of an army martyr, welcomed President Xi to his home together with his family. Xi looked at the kitchen, bedroom, backyard and toilet of his home and felt satisfied with the living and sanitation conditions of the home.

Later Xi gathered with Sun's family and local officials chatting about their daily life. Hearing that some of Sun's family members worked away from home and some worked locally, earning more than 70,000 yuan a year, with the children taken good care of and going to school, he felt content. "As long as we follow the path of the CPC, the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will be realized. Good days are yet to come," said Xi.
