Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday visited the Jiayu Pass during his inspection tour in Gansu Province. Xi climbed the ancient fortress and listened to the introduction on the history and culture of the Pass and the Great Wall along the Hexi Corridor.

Inscribed on the UNESCO list in 1987, the Jiayu Pass is regarded as the western start of Ming Dynasty Great Wall.
