Rainstorm lashes Henan province

Tropical storm Rumbia lashed Shangqiu of Henan Province on Saturday with 120mm of rainfall in four hours inundating several  places. (Photos: dahe.cn and VCG)

According to the red rainstorm alert issued by Henan meteorological station at 11:55 am Saturday, some areas of Zhoukou and Shangqiu in Henan saw over 100mm of rainfall in three hours.

It is reported that Henan Province will have cloudy days from Saturday afternoon to Sunday. Most areas will get showers and thundershowers while some places will be hit by heavy rainstorms, partially torrential rainstorms accompanied by severe convective weather events such as short spells of strong rainfall. The whole province will face level-4 north wind.

Due to Rumbia, Huaibei area of Anhui Province received 140mm of rainfall from 0:00 to 9:00 on Saturday. Xiangshan Park received the most rain of 197.2mm.

It is the strongest rainfall in Huaibei City of Anhui Province due to which seceral areas in the city were waterlogged. Local officials are working  to drain flood waters and control waterlogging.
