The alert is second in a row since September 23, 2018 after several incidents of robbing were reported by Chinese holidaymakers.

Chinese citizens in Sweden should be alert and ramp up measures to stay safe, said the message on the website of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry.

The Chinese Embassy in Sweden received over 50 reports of citizens being robbed in the European nation in the past three months. The Swedish police has not reported any progress in investigation, which makes it hard for Chinese citizens to protect their rights, according to the alert.

Chinese citizens in Sweden have been warned to carefully plan their trips, factoring in their destinations and places of accommodation. In case of emergency, they have been asked to inform police in time and contact the consulate, the alert said.
