China's coastal city of Sanya won the bid to host the 6th Asian Beach Games in 2020 as approved at the general assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Sanya Games is scheduled for late November to early December in 2020 and the games will cover 17 events, including beach football and martial arts. The city in the southernmost island province of Hainan is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the country.
