BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Zhang Qi, a senior official in south China's Hainan Province, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of Party disciplinary rules and laws, according to the top anti-graft agency on Friday.

Zhang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee of Haikou, the provincial capital, is being investigated by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
