After Beijing raised its COVID-19 emergency response to level II, local educational authorities in Dongcheng District have made a series of policies to help minimize the impact brought by COVID-19 on the studies and health of students: All schools under the college level are required to suspend in-person classes in the district. Tasks including disinfection work, online tutoring and better communication between schools and parents must be completed properly. In particular, senior students will take coronavirus tests before attending either their high school or college entrance exam.

According to Beijing Youth Daily, more than 16,800 residents in the district have tested for the coronavirus so far, with all cases being negative.
