SHANGHAI, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures opened higher Tuesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active gold contract for December 2020 delivery was up 1.06 yuan (about 16 U.S. cents) to open at 410.38 yuan a gram.

China launched gold futures in January 2008.
