Shanghai reports 19 new imported COVID-19 cases

SHANGHAI, March 25 (Xinhua) - Shanghai reported 19 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday, bringing the total number of imported cases in the city to 94, the local health commission said Wednesday.

The patients have been sent to designated hospitals for treatment. A total of 109 people in close contact with the patients on flights have been put under concentrated medical observation.

Fourteen suspected imported cases are under quarantine for further confirmation, the commission said.

On Tuesday, Shanghai saw no new confirmed indigenous COVID-19 infections. The municipality had reported a total of 339 indigenous confirmed cases.

By Tuesday, a total of 330 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery. Five had died of the disease.
