SHENYANG, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- The city of Shenyang in China's Liaoning Province reported one locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 case. Local authorities said this on Wednesday.

The city reported the case between noon on Tuesday and noon on Wednesday. The patient went to a designated hospital for medical treatment, said a press briefing on COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control work.

On Dec. 23, 2020, Shenyang reported its first locally transmitted case during the recent sporadic COVID-19 outbreaks. The city has so far registered 29 confirmed cases and one asymptomatic case in the new round of the epidemic.
