Beijing (People's Daily) - The Deyang Municipal People’s Procurator approved the arrest of former official Yan Chunfeng.

Suspected of taking bribes by taking advantage of his position and engaging in commercial activities, Yan was investigated and the case was transferred to the procurator department for review and prosecution.

Yan, a former deputy secretary of the local committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Guang'an, Sichuan Province, has been dismissed from public office and expelled from the Party, according to the discipline inspection and supervision committee of Sichuan Province.

Yan was also found misreporting his marital and asset status.

The case is being processed.
