Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio said protectionism and unilateralism are doomed to fail amid economic globalization in an interview with People’s Daily.

“We are gathering in Beijing, which shows the world we believe in multilateralism and vow to fight for a shared future for China and Africa.” Bio said.

The Forum of China-Africa Cooperation enables our countries to contemplate the past, look forward and forge cooperation. China helps us strengthen ties with the world, Bio explained.

China and Sierra Leone established diplomatic relations 47 years ago, and the two sides have strengthened it and delivered fruitful outcomes. We will consistently side with China and will assist and support each other, Bio said.

We sincerely appreciate China’s efforts to help us fight the Ebola outbreak with generous assistance for basic aid relief to working staff and medical treatment groups.

Sierra Leone is keen to learn China’s governance experiences and committed to talks and cooperation in multilateral affairs to safeguard Africa’s benefits.
