From March to April, the police in Guizhou's Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture received tip-offs about the sale of fake Moutai and other high-end brands of liquor in the prefecture.

After an investigation, the police identified the suspects who had filled used bottles of famous liquor with inferior liquor. The counterfeit products were then sold through express delivery.

In November, the police made the arrest in several Guizhou cities, confiscating fake liquor and production equipment that were valued at more than 4 million yuan (around 573,000 US dollars).
