A sound and steady China-US relationship not only serves the fundamental interests of our two countries but also meets the shared aspirations of the international community, said China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang when asked whether the China-US economic and trade talks have affected other areas of China-US relations.

“We hope the US can work together with China to jointly build a China-US relationship defined by coordination, cooperation and stability. In this regard we hope that the US will work with China to meet each other halfway,” Geng said at a routine briefing Friday.
