Southwest China's Sichuan steps out of the "zipline age"

The project to replace the zipline with a bridge was completed and the bridge was ready to open in Yi Village, Duiping Town, Jinyang County, Liangshan Prefecture, southwest China’s Sichuan Province on Saturday.

The bridge over Jinsha River connects Yi village, Duiping Town, Jinyang County, Sichuan Province and Ertaipingzi village, Qiaojia County, southwest China’s Yunnan Province, and has a length of 391.9 meters.

In the past five years, Sichuan has invested more than a billion yuan to replace 77 ziplines with bridges. The 77 projects have been completed.

More than 100,000 people in 499 villages in Sichuan province benefitted from the projects.
